Belgium

What can I say but .. Chocolate & Waffles!

We took full advantage of these two things.  Our bellies were full and happy in Belgium.

The first town we visited was Brugge. A sweet cobble street town with bridges that lift and fall to make way for the bigger boats traveling it’s winding canals. There was cycling. Oh, and the hot raspberry waffles! All very romantic (except for us – the many days too close closed in a bit). You will have to visit here on your own as our camera was out of batteries.

So, about Brussels – the capital of the European Union. We found this to be the most multi-cultural city so far. Early morning markets and exploring then Elmir caught up on some work (and a short nap) while I took the boys to the coolest indour / outdoor water park http://www.oceade.be/ ever – the slides you see are just from outside (I didn’t want to get the camera wet). After about 3.5 hours of fun we played in the playground and Eamon got his face painted. We ran back to the car to have Elmir join us for Cars 2 – couldn’t miss the opportunity to see this in it’s original version (English!).

These 2 days were so packed that we didn’t make it far before pulling over at a rest stop for a full night sleep (come to think of it, i’m sure the sugar crash didn’t help).
